A mischievous film about human behaviour in the great outdoors. The director filmed groups of tourists in Iceland where the landscapes are renowned for their sublime intensity. Flocking to the island's - beauty spots, - tourists tend to look around disorientedly. What is there to do here? Where to point the camera? Where is the landscape? The documentary material is combined with a performer's interpretation of the tourists' physical awkwardness. The film evokes the ambivalent feelings of anxiety and longing with which humans regard nature. »Outside« is the third part of the director's »Mismeetings« trilogy. The two previous films are »Close« and »Invisible«.
