When Maria's girlfriend tells her that her boyfriend has been two-timing her she goes into decline. She refuses to look at the evidence presented to her; instead, she becomes absorbed by a series of bestial killings that are always committed close to a place where she has just been. She embarks on her own investigation, which takes her farther and farther away from the real life she cannot relate to, until finally the truth about her boyfriend, her girlfriend, and the murders can no longer be repressed.
