Thomas Keating, a Cistercian monk, lives in St. Benedict¿s monastery in the Rocky Mountains. At 82, the former abbot and author of several books on Christian spirituality, is a physical and spiritual giant. He is deeply engaged in the world and its problems and a strong proponent of inter-religious dialogue. With humour and charisma, Keating introduces ¿Centering Prayer¿, a Christian prayer practise, comparable to Eastern forms of meditation, which has great impact on the individual practitioner. Keating¿s teachings are informed by his profound understanding of modern psychology. Keating also offers concrete, vivid examples of the understanding - and misunderstanding - of Christian ethics. The conversations with Thomas Keating are framed by atmospheric and beautiful footage from the monastery and the countryside around it.
