Displaying a very personal sense of the humor of the baroque, pretty far from run-of-the-mill animation cuteness, Jannik Hastrup has a strong pulse of jazzy rhythms running through his fourth animation feature, a Romeo and Juliet tale of two fighting monkey clans, who don't really know what all the feudin' is about. the spice of social satire is, in secret weapon-style, sprinkled throughout.
