Jørgen Lange thomsen is a forensic expert and is used to examine the dead determining exactly how they died. It is scientific work and by careful examination, Jørgen is often able to arrive at a definitve conclusion.
One day Jørgen is hired by a large human rights organization to solve a different type of case, which demands even more of him and his professional judgment. He is to investigate a group of Iraqis, who are still alive, to determine whether they have been subjected to torture or not. The case is of great political importance, and Jørgen's conclusion is vital to whether the case ends up at court, hereby accusing the Danish State of war crimes in Iraq. Jørgen now faces a moral dilemma because in this case, he is dependent on his knowledge of human nature, as well as deductive interview methods. But is Jørgen able to determine, who is telling the truth and who is lying? What other agendas are at play behind the scenes? And does it make any sense for the Iraqis to take The State of Denmark to court?
